The Maryland Handgun Qualification License (HQL) is your license to legally buy or rent handguns in Maryland. You must be 21, take this safety course, and pass a background check. It's valid for 10 years.

The price includes:

• your training seat
• paperwork processing with the MD State Police
• your Passport photo
• your ammo
• your range time at Guntry Gun Club

The price does not include:

• Fingerprints $75 at Guntry Gun Club
• MD State Police processing fees
